Archive for March, 2009
this was a “game” on facebook where you ave to write a note with 25 things about yourself. so since I invested that time to come up with those things I thought I post it also here, for those of you who are not using facebook :P
1. I really enjoyed reading other peoples “25 things – notes” and was wondering then all the time, “do I even have to tell that much interesting stuff?” I struggle already filling out those “description of myself stuff”
2. Currently, I am living together with my husband in a vacation apartment in Stuttgart until we find our new home, since he got a job here
3. I spend the last 2 years living in a German village in Switzerland (Büsingen), studying Theology at an English speaking college, with people from all over the world, and it is a time I never want to miss again in my life.
4. Getting married was so far the biggest adventure of my life, shaped by visa issues and all kinds of other paper craziness. If you want to know more, ask me, but I’m just saying: “German bureaucracy”
5. This time was also where God showed me to fully rely on him and the way he was working on things was full of ups and downs, but in the end just miraculous.
6. Since I am a little girl, I have been planning my wedding, in the end many things turned out differently, but that made our wedding just perfect.
7. I discovered that I really love cooking and even more than that, arranging the food nicely on the plate… but afterwards I always appreciate some help to clean up the kitchen again ;)
8. I love eating meat, especially from the grill, and I often get weird looks for that
9. I still cannot decide if I actually like coffee or if I don’t… surely I love chocolate cappuccino :)
10. Some years ago, my dad owned his own garage, so I had this phase in my childhood where I wanted to become a car mechanic and take over my dad’s business later
11. Since I am a child I have a passion for playing piano, not that I ever really learned it, but I always wanted to. So when I was in Büsingen I took the chance and had some lessons. It was not always easy but I loved every moment of it, and I hope I can continue it in the future
12. I miss playing soccer on Fridays in Büsingen, not that I am a great soccer player but it was always lots of fun, and next to swimming the only kind of sport that I really enjoy doing for a longer time
13. I am really interested in computer, and all kinds of stuff that is connected to that, or help people with that, and I like that this surprises guys sometimes :P
14. A weird habit is that I can never just eat one kind of candy or snack… I always take turns between salty and sweet stuff, chips, chocolate and gummy bears
15. I love taking naps with a TV running in the background, most relaxing is the sound of a Formula 1 race :P no kidding, but from time to time I also love to actually watch the race
16. I am totally a “spring person”… first sunshine comes out and I feel like being a new person
17. I love sunflowers; they always put a smile on my face
18. When I was a teenager I had this idea about becoming a pastor’s wife, later I even thought about maybe becoming a pastor… I wanted to be in a position to help people… well realized that it is life is more about helping and loving others with just who you are and where you are, not being bound to a position. So now, I am trying to work on this… with God’s help
19. I really like ordering and structuring things but I often don’t have enough discipline to keep it up
20. During the last 6 month, I became really good at making a fire, we were heating our apartment through a chimney… I tell you it is not always only cozy and romantic… but I still think it was kinda cool
21. I love those TV-shows where a team comes and helps a family that really has a hard life, but I think how great it would be if this was not happening only for TV-shows
22. The smell of vanilla candles mixed with strawberry ones from IKEA… yummy
23. Even though I spend most of my life in Germany, I think have more friends living outside of Germany than in Germany. Somehow, that’s really cool, but it sucks missing you guys.
24. I miss my German friends as well; coz life has kept me really busy and far away at the moment :(
25. I thank God for my husband, whom I love more and more every day.

We made it and arrived in Stuttgart. Already on Sunday, March 1st, but this is the first time since our arrival that I got access to Internet sitting here in a Web-Cafe. Weird feeling to not have access, suddenly you realize how handy it gets especially to find supermarkets close by or looking for apartments.
So far I looked at a few apartments, some better some worse, all in all I will be just sooo happy when we got our place and we can move in :) While I am doing this and also managing a little bit of household in our small vacation apartment Ali started his work now since yesterday.
We really like Stuttgart so far but of course everything is new and needs some adjusting. I just wanted to give this little update so you know we are doing fine. Maybe you can think about us in your prayers for the search of a new home.

Wir sind seit Sonntag den 1. März in Stuttgart angekommen, genauer gesagt in Stuttgart Vaihingen.
